Qazi told media persons here after chairing a lengthy meeting on on-going relief operations and the Jamaat's contribution in this connection that there was no truth in MQM allegations.
"We are opposed to violence and ready to allay apprehensions of MQM if any," Qazi maintained, rejecting the Karachi-based party's allegations.
He maintained that the relief and rehabilitation should be carried out by the Shaukat Aziz-led government, after taking the Parliament into confidence.
"Assigning all tasks to the military is not correct. It is domain of the government and they should do it," he emphasised.
The Jamaat chief charged that the rulers were following a policy of turning Pakistan into a secular state, and as a part of it, the subject of 'Pakistan Studies' was being removed from metric classes.
Qazi, who is also the president of the six-party alliance, the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA), questioned the logic behind promotion of Israel and India without their contribution towards relief or rehabilitation activities.
"We want to know, why these two countries are being promoted", he asked.
Qazi said that Leader of Opposition Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman had taken MMA leadership into confidence on his meeting with Tariq Aziz, top aide of President General Pervez Musharraf.
"It is surprising for us that why the rulers sought our opinion on appointing someone as new chief of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB)," he remarked.
Earlier, the meeting vowed to continue relief and rehabilitation until the last quake victim is rehabilitated without any let and hindrance.
The representatives of Jamaat's sister organisations such as Pasban, Shabab-i-Milli and Al-Khidmat Foundation also attended the meeting at the residence of MNA Mian M Aslam of the MMA.
